Chambered / Solid Paulownia Wood Surfboard Building Kit

This kit includes the wood needed to shape a complete chambered Paulownia surfboard.

Shaping a solid or wooden surfboard is simple and easy. It also requires no fibreglass, just a sealer coat of resin or varnish. We use only the best Australian grown Paulownia that is very lightweight and strong. You can expect to make a strong board that will last you a lifetime and depending on your chambering technique, you will be able to get it down to a similar weight to a regular foam board.

Only basic tools are needed to shape your board - jigsaw, planer, sander and clamps. You can use hand tools, however it will obviously take a lot longer to finish. These tools can be picked up cheaply if you don't already own them.

What is included - 1st grade rough sawn Paulownia wood (4-6 pieces depending on order) and vented leash plug.

What you need to supply - clamps, shaping tools and glue. 

The maximum rocker of your board will be determined by the thickness of your wood - i.e the 4" thick kits will make a board with a maximum rocker of 4". Basic step by step instructions on how to make a chambered wooden surfboard can be found HERE.
